Important Notes & Pro Tips
- Install Before Paneling: For best results, install this entire kit before hanging your final ceiling and wall panels so they can rest on a perfect plane and slide cleanly behind the integrated flanges. Post-panel installations are possible but may require custom trimming.
- Tuck Under Front Weather Stripping: When positioning the passenger-side front B-pillar cover, use a finger or trim tool to pull the rubber door weather stripping over the edge of the trim piece—tucking the flange underneath—before drilling or fastening.
- Pre-Drill Hardened Steel: You must pre-drill pilot holes through the front B-pillar flanges and bulkhead area using the included 1/8” drill bit. The Transit B-pillars and ceiling strut are made of hardened steel, so self-tapping screws cannot pierce the metal on their own; pre-drilling is required. Secure the B-pillars with the 1" screws and the bulkhead with 3 to 5 of the 1-1/4" screws.
- Bulkhead Tape Adhesion: For the center bulkhead piece, peel the protective film off the pre-applied double-stick tape and press the upper edge firmly into the roof top for a tight, rattle-free seal.
- Set Rear Rivnuts: For the rear D-pillar section, position the overhead and vertical panels to mark your mounting hole locations. Drill the marked holes to 23/64”, install the provided 1/4-20 rivnuts into the frame, and secure using the provided bolts (two for overhead, five per side for verticals). A drop of thread locker (like Loctite) is highly recommended on all rear bolts.
- Anchor the Rear Bottom: Complete the rear installation by threading one 3/8-16 bolt directly into the existing factory threaded holes at the bottom of both the driver and passenger sides.
