Brushless Motor Efficiency: The ProBreeze uses a highly efficient, quiet brushless motor. On high, the ProBreeze draws under 2 amps (about 20 watts), whereas the MaxxAir draws around 5 amps (60 watts).

Massive Airflow: ProBreeze claims an impressive 1,700 cubic feet per minute (CFM) compared to MaxxAir’s 900 CFM. In a 144 Sprinter, the ProBreeze can turn over the air in about 30 seconds.

Integrated Blackout Shade: The interior shroud includes a built-in blackout shade, eliminating the need for aftermarket magnetic window covers. Even when closed, side vents allow air to continue flowing into or out of the van.

The Verdict: Over 6 Months Later
After over six months of nearly continuous runtime, we have zero complaints. The brushless motor remains incredibly quiet, and the blades still turn smoothly without the gritty noise that aging MaxxAir fans sometimes develop.
Thanks to its popularity, the ProBreeze is also now available in multiple options, including a translucent exterior lid for more natural light and a sleek black interior shroud.
ProBreeze Installation & Upgrade Tips
Whether you’re cutting a fresh hole for a brand-new install or simply swapping out an existing fan, here are some crucial tips we've learned from installing these in our shop:

The Ultimate Upgrade Hack: The ProBreeze mounting flange is identical to the MaxxAir’s. If you are replacing a MaxxAir fan, you do not have to break the roof seal! Just remove the four side screws, lift the old MaxxAir out, drop the ProBreeze into the existing flange, and do the wiring from inside.

Watch the Wiring Polarity: ProBreeze uses a Red wire for positive and a Black wire for negative. MaxxAir uses Black for positive and White for negative. If you mix these up when swapping fans, you will instantly fry the ProBreeze circuit board.

Connect Harnesses First: Always connect the three internal wiring harnesses before supplying 12V power to the fan. Doing this backward can trigger an error code on the display.

Turn Off the Red Backlight: The control buttons have a red backlight. If you are light-sensitive at night, simply press and hold the light button on the shroud for about 5 seconds to toggle the red backlight completely off.

Cleaning the Screen: While there are no quick-release tabs for the bug screen, cleaning it only takes a few minutes. Just pop off the light diffusers, remove the four screws holding the interior shroud, and let it hang from the harnesses while you wipe it out.
